DCS® DIE CORRECTOR STATION 400/650/1200

allows you to move dies with comfort and safety and act on them for all necessary work and correction before or after extrusion.

The DCS DIE CORRECTOR STATION ® was designed and produced by Compes to meet the needs of die correctors for aluminium extrusion:
to retain, work and correct dies by eliminating the safety problems caused by weight and diameter, facilitating movement in the various stages of correction.

With DCS DIE CORRECTOR STATION the corrector can handle 360 degrees and in total safety or mandrel and die cap without removing the piece from the vice.

The workstation is made of four different types that have the same versatility and ease of use:

  • The smaller version for dies up to Ø 400 mm.
  • The intermediate for Ø between 300 mm and 650 mm.
  • The largest for those with Ø between 400 mm and 1200 mm.
  • The special version for squared dies.

DCS 1200 allows to hold, work and correct dies in a more appropriate and technological way than the home-made equipment with no safety system or the traditional vice to be used in conjunction with a hoist to prevent the fall of the pieces.

The automated system allows you to move dies with comfort and safety and act on them for all work and corrections that are necessary before or after extrusion.

With DCS you can comfortably carry out the following actions:

  • Frosting, grinding and polishing to improve entry feeds and undercuts.
  • Filing of bearings in the mandrel or die cap.
  • Control of height and flatness of the bearings.

DCS® DIE CORRECTOR STATION 650

allows you to move dies from diam. 300 to diam. 650 with comfort and safety and act on them for all necessary work and correction before or after extrusion.

DCS® DIE CORRECTOR STATION 1200

allows you to move dies from diam. 400 to diam. 1200 with comfort and safety and act on them for all necessary work and correction before or after extrusion.

Main strong points

By introducing DCS DIE CORRECTOR STATION® in the company you eliminate accidents risks, disadvantages and relevant costs, joining safety to ease of use.

SAFETY
Safety is guaranteed by the vice jaws and the tilting-proof arm.
From the beginning to the end of correction die or mandrel are no more lifted by the operator.
ERGONOMICS
The operator's physical strain is considerably reduced thanks to the tasks absorbed by the station, allowing running without any difficulty all the piece movements in vertical, rotary and axial direction at 360°.
The side button board allows adjusting the workbench according to the specific height of the operator, who can thus run his job in the best ergonomic conditions.
The station is easily adjustable to the various die diameters without applying modifications.
PERFORMANCE
Resistance to weight stress caused mainly by big diameter dies.
Guarantee of reliability and good performance.

Operating instructions

The following operations are valid for all die types.

  • Loosen the vice.
  • Load the die on the rollers.
  • Adjust the arm so as to guarantee the die balance.
  • Ascertain that the die turns correctly.
  • Block the die.
  • Press the button up/down according to the operator's height.
  • Run all the necessary correction operations.
  • Unload the die after loosening vice and arm.

Possibilities of supply

Upon request it is possible to: develop special jaws with geometry of the customer’s dies, modify the distance between jaws and adjust the maximum height.

  • DCS 400 that can twist in all directions, but has no height adjustament, instead the vice cav tilt +/- 15°.
  • DCS 650 that is provided with a reduction gear with nut and screw for the vertical movement and is featured by a structure with a bearing column.
  • DCS 1200 with central telescopic cylinder and 3 guiding columns with rotating balls and a tilting-proof arm.
  • SPECIAL VERSION for square dies or as a function of specific requests. The DCS consists of a steel frame, a vice and rollers for the support of the piece.

The machine is supplied in compliance with CE standards or alternative ones.
